I see Flipkens retired after her match today, all the best to her for the future

Flipkens is a credit to the sport, I hope she enjoys her retirement. Thoroughly lovely lady

She saved her last match for Wimbledon.

Always loved watching Flipper play - a loss to the game, but a lovely moment at the end of her match today

Coco Gauff beat Buzarnescu in straight sets so Katie B's mini section now reads:
(11) Gauff vs (20) Anisimova
Tan vs (WC) Boulter

A reminder of Heather's section:
Watson vs Juvan
Tsurenko vs Niemeier

I see Alison Riske has become Alison Riske-Amritraj. Has she married someone from the famous Amritraj family, three brothers who made up the best Indian tennis family ever.

Yes she is   married to Stephen Amritraj  who is the son of  Anand. Stephen's uncle is Vijay. They were married in July 2019 in Pittsburgh.

Cool. I have not seen her use the Amritraj name before, even at Wimbledon

Unless Angie Kerber reaches the Wimbledon final, the bottom half of the ladies draw contains a new finalist. There is one former semi finalist in the bottom half in Ostapenko. The top half of the draw contains 2 former winners in Kvitova and Halep.

Great result for Katie, was worried she might not be able to repeat her efforts in Eastbourne but showing what she could achieve if she stayed fit.

After a really positive start Heather has a terrible service game.

3-4*

Danger is she just get tighter and tighter.

*5-5.

It won't quite rank up there with the great R3 matches. But what an opportunity for Heather.

She did, and a good hold at *5-5, but two poor return games have put Juvan under no pressure at all serving for it. But disappointing not to make Juvan work.

Tiebreak.

So passive and tentative. I wish she would step in more and get to the net.
