Weeks 26 & 27 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - mixed doubles

Super for Lissey after also getting through to R2 in the women's doubles with Olivia.

Particularly after Lissey & Olivia got overlooked for a WC last year. Yes, I have read recently that their rankings weren't that great last year but Olivia in particular had had many injury issues and their results and ongoing improvement were why many here last year thought it was poor to bypass them. But we evidently saw more worthy of that encouragement than the powers that be.

Anyway, great progress since and now these rewards.

Are ranking points usually given out for mixed doubles as well? Presumably Lissey would have been back in the Top 100 given her efforts so far.

Rather disappointed with the BBC Headline stressing Jamie and Venus's defeat rather than Lissey and Jonny's victory.

No points given for mixed regardless of the current ban on players.

Yeah, FW is of course correct. The only 4 events that have mixed are the 4 slams. I did produce my own rankings until 12

momths ago and with so few events, a quarter final place would see each of Jonny and Lissey into the top 20 men or women Respectively.

joe, Jamie and Neal were all in the mens top 4 and Harriet was

top 6 at the time.

Agree about the BBC headline. I thought it was disrespectful. I realise Venus and Jamie are more famous than Lissey and Jonny, but L and J deserved the headline. Possibly slightly different if V and J had been beaten by non-Brits.

Farah injured his wrist at the beginning of the second set and could barely hit the ball thereafter.

Neal & Desirae do make a good partnership though, was watching them the other day.

Wow, when did that scheduling change. Jamie's run finished after the men's final.
