Really enjoyed that match. Both pairs going for it and a good crowd there.

Makes me wish there was some kind of mixed doubles tour which I know is probably not possible.
But I think a lot of people would enjoy it.

Great for Neal & Desirae. Well done to them on retaining their crown.

Real pity though, having given the mixed doubles final this slot, that it followed Matthew Ebden playing a 4 hours nen's doubles SF.

Not great for Ebden or generally and also meant such a delay in proceedings rather than properly following on after the women's singles SFs.

Now clearly players going deep in both the men's / women's doubles and mixed have a lot of matches to play and potentially some doubling up. But I reckon that it would have not been that difficult to have planned to avoid men's doubles matches happening on the same day as the mixed final, whenever they schedule that final.

If it's an important final to be highlighted more and given a new slot, then the scheduling should have supported that. Pity.

66 years old. Still doing this. There's hope for me yet - although my name's not Mansour Bahrami.

Why did they move this to a Thursday? I quite liked it as the 'finisher' of the fortnight.

I don't see why it couldn't happen at Masters events where both genders play at the same time. Miami is a tournament that has both tours play in the same week (I think). Eastbourne is another one where this coild be done

I have advocated something similar - I often thought the Slams should award points for the 4 mixed events in some fashion and the top 8 pairs get invited to an end of season event , a Mixed Masters, so to speak.

It will never happen but I always thought it would give more credibility and structure to the Mixed as a genre. It would be something that would be made of doubles players from the mens and womens, of course, so would be an addition they might welcome, and could be played sometime after the ATP Tour Finals so as not to conflict on players trying to qualify for those. So maybe a later November thing.

Just my thoughts

Wouldn't work with the Canadian Open, as the men's & the women's events alternate between Toronto & Montréal, with the men playing in one & the women in the other.  This year, the men are in Montréal & the women in Toronto.  Next year, it will be the other way round.
