Week 28 - ITF M25 - Roehampton, Great Britain (grass)

I bet Henry will be VERY pleased with that 'result', given his three-setter today, the weather, and his final tomorrow

At the risk of jinxing him, I'm going to stick my neck out for once & say that I reckon he's going to do the double.

You were saying, Jon?  wink

Final:  (7) Henry Patten WR 550 vs (WC) Toby Samuel WR 1776

If Henry wins tomorrow, how close will he be to the Top 500.

Asking for a friend wink

Tell your friend that Henry would be a fair bit away from WR 500, that is a fair bit inside with 79 points !

His projected 70 points for reaching the final may already be enough, taking him to 70 points on 25/07, ahead of Kyle who is currently live ranked 497 on 68 points.

Thanks. I was looking at the live rankings and thought something was a bit strange. It is showing him on 54 points, despite acknowledging that he has reached the final. I guess the 54 points is what he will be on next Monday, and the points from this week won't go on until the following Monday, hence not shown on the live rankings.

As for Kyle, he will hopefully start to pick up points again in the next couple of months.

It does complicate life that ITF 25K and 15K points don't go on until a week later. Even junior ITF points update on the first Monday after.

They just need to change this dont they - given all results are available on score sites immediately these days, it makes no sense. If they are worried about alignment , just choose a date at end of year and start with all points being the same day thereafter.

silly really !

They want to release rankings on a monday morning, but some ITF events can overrun due to weather etc hence the one week delay.

Is that something peculiar to the ITF though. Even Wimbledon has had to play a final on the Monday.

I was going to say - why wouldnt the monday be the default and add the rain delayed results as soon as they are available - cant be that many events that get rain delayed beyond the planned final day?!

Some of the ITF tournaments are not that efficient at publishing their results.

Tenacious Toby the !   Another one I didn't see coming!     Henry failed to serve out the second set before the tie-break & then kept spurning set points in the tie-break itself!  He was also a break up early in the decider.  Young Toby, however, clearly doesn't know when he's beaten!

Going by his ATP Bio, is Toby the shortest player we have?
