Interesting clash tonight for the Jubbster with the now 157th-ranked Ugo Humbert. Was quite shocked last night to see how far he's dropped down the rankings. Anyone know the backstory?

(CD - I'm expecting here....don't disappoint wink).

Well, you can choose where to go with this but there's been a lot of talk that Humbert suffered a bad reaction to the covid vaccine.....

https://www.tennisworldusa.org/tennis/news/Tennis_Interviews/112231/ugo-humbert-doctors-said-my-issues-could-have-been-negative-vaccine-reaction/

Nothing specific has shown up, and it could be a whole heap of other things too, but he's definitely not been feeling great, physically

(He's also actually had covid, at the Aussie Open, but so has nearly everyone, and I don't think he had any symptoms - it was only picked up in an airport test)

I have checked the ATP site and the official tournament website too, and they all definitely say Julian Cash (GB).

Also according to the ATP, the only Cashes apart from Julian are Pat, Robert & Wesley.  The ITF does list an Australian player called Jett Cash, but he's 27 & unranked in either singles or doubles, so I doubt he'd be playing in a Challenger.

So, are we definitely convinced we have Julian here and not the Aussie namesake Jett? TNNS (on one of their draws) and one or two scores sites are still showing Jett as the player with an Aussie symbol against his name but other places (ATP included, TNNS on their formal pdf list) etc are showing Julian.

I guess Julian doesnt do social media so we can see if he is in Spain or not??

About
Born: 1994 (age 28 years)

FWIW -2 - Tristan Schoolkate is also entered into next weeks Nottingham grass ITF, and playing doubles there with Arthur Fery

Henry Patten and Julian are both entered into singles but are not in the doubles draw next week, for whatever reason (unless they can get a wild card or onsite entry, not sure how it works?)

Good for him!

I honestly don't undertand why you're getting so worked up about it.  I wouldn't trust information shown on anything other than the ATP & ITF sites & the official tournament sites further than I could throw it (& yes, I accept that both the ATP & the ITF are capable of making mistakes).  Like Bob, I've checked today's OoP on the Pozoblanco site & it clearly says "Julian Cash (GBR)".  That's good enough for me.  I'm convinced.

Paul, Paul...... you CAN'T serve two double faults in a third set tie-break..... :::(((

SO close - and some excellent tennis - but he loses 7-5 2-6 7-6(4)

Real shame - but it was a good match
