Had a soft spot for Arthur ever since his heartbreaking loss to Griekspoor in last year's FQR at Wimbledon. Really hope to see more of him on the tour and that he can keep on climbing the rankings.

On the gossip channel, rumours that Arthur may go pro rather than returning to Stanford because the coach is so poor at developing players. IMO probably wants a Stanford degree or as he has two years left, he would transfer to a more competitive college team (eg Florida, Virginia, Ohio State, TCU) where hed still leave with a degree.
Sorry, Dan, but he served for the match, so he had his chance - and didn't take it
Arthur wins 7-5 in the third
Really pleased (partly for my mega biggie bet) but more because he is so under-ranked and really has played some excellent grass tennis this summer - playing in a fun, entrepreneurial way, a pleasure to watch, quite exciting....
He can keep his credits from Stanford, of course, and transfer them - or use them later
And his dad is a very wealthy man, so there's no issues on that front
Would be exciting for us if he turned full-time pro - but no problem if he wants to carry on the college route a bit - it's certainly doing him no harm (and he's still quite small, compared with the bulk of players)

His post win interview definitely sounds like it might be true. When asked whats coming up next no talk of college just about trying to improve his ranking so he can play challengers.
Would love to see Arthur take on more tournaments now and go back to the studies later.
He comes across as a really nice young man.
Well done on his title today. Hopefully first of many.
