Wonderful end to the match from Marni. Huge winner to break, and serves it out with two aces

Amazing week by Marni. Fantastic wins to reach the semi finals.
It really feels like in recent weeks we have had a few new younger players really making a big breakthrough.
Marni, Toby and Johannes to start with. Great stuff.

That win is going to put Marni inside the top 1000 - possibly somewhere close to WR925. Maia will get a nice gain too, possibly almost 100 places to just outside WR600

I'm definitely banking on Amarni to fashion a good career for herself wink

Fantastic from Maia and with the way Marni is playing we could be looking at an all GB final tomorrow

That's a great result from Maia. Especially after the long covid issues

Marni's match went with serve to the tie break. The tie break went with serve until Marni dropped a point on service to make it 4-5. Marni saved two set points from 4-6 and then won the next two points to take the set 7-6(6). smile

Marni is 2-1* in the third

But she had an MTO in the second set, and is currently having another one

Looks like lower back (or hip)

But she keeps touching her lower back on the lefthand side so there's definitely something going on there

Marni played well, and fought right to the end, it was 4-4 - but she just got broken, and then saved one MP but two was one too many....

Least she can now get a bit of treatment - and rest - and know that she was within a whisker of beating a top-200 player

Another super looking display by Marni. I do hope no serious injury issue to get in the way of her continuing to progress.

And, of course, well done to Maia!
