Kyle stumbled over the line in the end - but quite frankly, who cares. As long as he walked off court without a recurrence of his injury, it would have been a victory in my book. The fact that he got the win on the scoreboard as well is a bonus. More practise time before he starts using his PR entries.
Our friends at Tennis Abstract rate Kyle to win this event, Liam is second favourite (as he is in same half as Kyle, rated to reach the semis), Aidan to get one win and Billy to go out first round
Personally, Liam should be gunning for a title here. Kyle really should be happy with just getting a couple of decent , injury free, performances out of the way.
After quite a long rally which Kyle won, the point had to be replayed as 'the ball was broken'. I'm not sure I ever heard that before. Kyle's fearsome forehand seems tro becoming back anyway.
