30 would seem to me a weirdly early age for any overage circuit, considering many players are still around their peak at that age and play at a high level on the normal tour well past 30.
So yes 35 is probably the earliest logical overage base to have.

I know - utterly ridiculous !
The term mature student says hello (uni/college students are classed as mature students at age 21).
QF: (7) Daniel Cox WR 466 vs (Q) Patrick Brady UNR
QF:(1) Alastair Gray WR 274 vs (6) Stuart Parker WR 465
[QF: (5) Tristan Schoolkate (AUS) WR 439 vs (4) Rio Noguchi (JPN) WR 361]
QF: (WC) Finn Bass (age 22) WR 1138 vs Max Basing (age 19) WR 1215
That QF is a huge match opportunity for those two young players - I'd have thought Max may be pretty plum tuckered out after the 3.5 hours yesterday. But a SF spot in the 25k at stake - that's a nice counter.....
