Week 32 - ATP Masters 1000 - National Bank Open - Montréal, Canada (hard)

Nick K beats Medvedev in 3. With Djoko missing from US Open, probably, Nick K might not be a bad bet you know!

Great match, Dan playing great - but it is tough to watch Rublev actively hurting himself in frustration...currently with a bleeding hand from punching his racquet and a bleeding knee from hitting it with his racquet...

Incredible win for Jack! Straight sets against Tsitipas is a great result! Three British men in the last 16 is great!

Wow wow wow. What a lovely bunch of results to wake up to! What do we think Jack's next goals should be? Seeded by Aus Open? Win a 250?

Well missed all the fun! 3 Brits in the last 16, top 10 wins for Evo and Jack!

Norrie v Auger-Aliassime
Draper v Monfils
Evans v Fritz

Montreal Masters 3rd round - I really fancy Jack to win and on tonights showing, all 3 could win!

A trio of wins and a stunning one by Jack:

L32: Daniel Evans WR 39 defeated (5) Andrey Rublev (***) WR 8 by 6-4 6-4

L32: (Q) Jack Draper WR 82 defeated (3) Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE) WR 5 by 7-5 7-6(4)

*****************

L16: (9) Cameron Norrie WR 11 vs (4) Félix Auger-Aliassime (CAN) WR 9

H2H is 1-4 to FAA

L16: Daniel Evans WR 39 vs (10) Taylor Fritz  (USA) WR 13

H2H is one apiece, Dan won earlier on in 2022 in Washington and Fritz won in Rome last year

L16: Gaël Monfils (FRA) WR 20 (CH=6 in 2016) vs (Q) Jack Draper WR 82

I don't believe we've ever had 3 players in the last 16 in an ATP1000 / Masters series event!

It's brilliant news. What a result for Jack. He's looking under ranked at the moment, isn't he?

Jack is up to live 62 and could go to around 55 with another win. Evo is live 34 and back in us open seeding contention , another win would take him to around 30 and a definite seeding.

Brilliant though Jacks win is, Evos feels significant as it seems to show he is really getting his form back.

Cam is 1-4 BUT won their last match just last week in Los Cabos , so Id say he stands a decent chance. Evo won last week against Fritz as well, albeit Fritz had a physical melt down in the heat so hard to put form on that one.

Monfils is also still in doubles so perhaps getting his form back also

nonetheless promising
