Joe & Rajeev getting back in the groove in time for the USO?  Let's hope so!

Getting back into the groove implies more of a loss of form to me. I don't think that's been the problem, I think the long standing back issue Joe has been dealing with is which is why he's played much less this year and has only really targeted the larger tournaments or warm ups to slams.

But all the same, great to see them progress to the final.

F: (1) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 3 (2+1) vs (6) Tim Pütz & Michael Venus (GER/NZL) CR 23 (12+11)

Pütz & Venus received a w/o from Rune & Tsitsipas in the SF after Tsitsipas beat Medvedev in 3 sets in the singles.

Super, and helps Joe hold on to a very decent chance of retaining his individual WR 1 spot post the US Open.

It will most likely be between Joe and Neal, with Joe having Rajeev covered and Neal having Wesley covered and others a bit back, though a few within US Open title range if our guys don't have a great time.

Taking off 2021 Winston-Salem and US Open points:

Joe : 7360 - 2000 = 5360 points
Neal : 5735 - 45 - 90 = 5600 points

So Joe will effectively start the US Open 240 points behind Neal. How good it would be if they met in the final to determine foremost the title but also the ongoing WR 1.

Their second of the year and third in all following Toronto 2021 and Monte Carlo 2022. I've just been counting.
