No seeds left in Ali's half, he could make hay here. Come on Ali! Up to 246 live rankings and a QF win over the Vietnamese will make that into the 230's. A title would put him right on the back of Jubby and Jay as well, but let's not get ahead of ourselves

 I did  Though having posted the details of Ali's L16 then upcoming match some may think I should then have had the dedication to stay around another few hours to add the result

I was up and caught the end of this - if Alastair could have nicked that second set I feel like he would have won.

To be fair. Hoang returned exceptionally well and made it tough for Ali who played a lot of serve and volleys. It was clear that the Vietnamese has won a lot of matches recently albeit at a lower level.

Shame but a good match.
