Didn't see any either but maybe not a huge gulf in ability but a huge gulf in production on the day - which could be linked to fatigue, being overwhelmed by the occasion, injury, starting badly and panicking, or a whole heap of things (as well as not being quite so good but not being SO far off)

Yes, very disappointing final

But all the wins in the week, against high ranked players, did happen and are still relevant

Yep, still a great week. We desperately need new players in the 250-450 bracket, and Marni looks on her way in that direction.

And just for fun, I checked what WR you'd be if all your counters were the losing finalist in 25ks....it's 112. So only another 15 finals to go ;)

Well a disappointing score line in the final. It looks like one step too far for Marni but lots of confidence to take from this week. Hopefully she can do well in the three tournaments we have in this country in October however I would like to see her go and test herself in a couple of 25k tournaments abroad.
Does anybody know what her ranking will be when she gets the points from her recent tournaments?
How many points/what ranking do you need to be to getting to main draw and qualification of 60 K events?

Marni is up to WR 801 on 31 points in the latest rankings with last week's 9 points added.

Adding a further 30 points for RU here takes her to 61 points which should jump her up to around WR 600 in the post US Open rankings. A certain Serena Williams is WR 605 on 61 points in the latest rankings.
