Week 34 - ITF M25 - Roehampton, Great Britain (hard)

Very similar to the first set for Max - he played some good tennis, had break points, wasn't far off, but Antoine was that bit too strong

But he's playing a guy who was in the top-100 only 2 years ago so a very decent show

And nice gutsiness from Giles - he so nearly threw away the game when he served for the second set - did really well to recover - some good lefty tennis

Giles gets back from 0-3 to even the score. MTO at 0-2 I'm assuming was for him

Giles mounting a fight-back, though, having taken the second set by 6-3.

What an excellent end to a match - it was actually quite moving - Giles was SO geed up, he was shouting the place down, and then just at the end, the last few points in the TB (with a couple of lovely winners), he went all quiet - it was almost as though he couldn't believe it ...

Leshem was a real gent, well done to him, too - a very good match

And some super tennis from Giles when needed

4-6 6-3 7-6(3) to Giles

Underdogs according to the rankings, Giles and Joe T made it look easy:

Final: Giles Hussey & Joe Tyler CR 1839 (652+1087) def. (2) Arthur Féry & Mark Whitehouse CR 1027 (613+414) 7-5 6-3

Excellent title for both lads - Giles had won a 15k before but never a 25k, and this is Joe's first pro-title ever - really pleased for them

And all this after Giles' third set TB win in singles today
