Andy involved in the longest set of the US Open 2022 so far against 20 yo world no 203 Emilio Nava. Is this what Andy needs in the blistering New York heat with his hip issues and his cramping issues and at his age? Even if Andy can overturn the deficit you have to wonder about his recovery powers to go any further in this tournament.
That depends what happens in set 2 and 3. If Andy works out a way I think the sets will be quicker. Nava will find it harder than Andy to keep this level for anymore than 2 or 3 sets I suspect.
Nava's nothing if not tenacious: he beat John Millman in five sets & three hours & 58 minutes in the first round (7-6(7) 4-6 7-6(4) 1-6 6-1)...
Im aware of that but Andy a lot different player than Millman. We shall see, hopefully Im right here but its the Andy Rollercoaster so anything possible.

Anyway its 5-7 5-3* 15-30
Nava first serve numbers dropping a bit.
More errors from Nava, and Andy taking balls earlier sometimes.
Magnificent winner for Andy down the line at 30-15 and hes looking strong and more aggressive as well. Hes a master of game management, I think thats what he loves about playing the most, the mental grind. Addictive to play and watch as well.
