A really high quality first set between Ewan and Lilian M - lots of very strong hitting, great acceleration, good net play, great serves - really enjoyable
The French guy had two set points in the tie-break but Ewan played well - and Lilian blinked - and ended up losing the next four points
Unlike Anton's match which was really hard work, start to finish, from what I saw, but at least he won - just
And that was likely to be the mosy tricky match, IMO - and in the opinion of the bookies who had him as strong favourite (thanks, Ewan, the odds were nice on you)
Thoroughly enjoyed that - Ewan played a very good match, he liked Lilian's pace, and was very good on his feet.
The French guy has a good serve and forehand but rather goes for overkill and the one-handed backhand is a bit of a slap
