RE: Week 41 - ATP Challenger 80 - Wolfkran Open - Ismaning, Germany (indoor carpet)

Another win from Alastair or Jan should guarantee GBR men to be under 1400 next Monday. Probably not enough to catch GER who are currently up 20. Two wins would make it very close biggrin and take them closer to 1350.

tough match and if ALi was to win, he would thoroughly deserve his new potential top 250 ranking. Don't want to be a killjoy but it feels this will be a challenge too far right now, to me at least

As Arthur and Harry are trying to do their bit for Bob, so Ali G is putting his best fooy forward for Jaggy....

Ali lost the first set 4-6

But gave Quentin the run-around in the tiebreak of the second, and took it 7-6(3)

Such a good effort from Alistair

Got to a third-set tiebreak

SO, so close between them - hardly any break points - all big serves

But Ali blinked first in the tiebreak - a poor UE on the fourth point, and he was always just behind after that....

And ended up losing it, 7-6(4)

:(

Very close and that should give him confidence when he looks back on the week
