They didn't play well today. Lloyd went for broke on big points and just doesn't have the groundstroke accuracy for that. A shame, but 7 finals in 2022 is pretty great - and still a couple more tournaments to go. Returning and second serve points seem to be the difference between them and the top pairs at the minute.
Pity. But other than their 0 mandatory points for a R1 defeat in the Miami Masters the lowest of Lloyd's other 18 counters ( and what he would have to exceed next week for a net addition ) will now be 80 points. That's quite a collection of counters.
And actually, as he is playing in the Basel 500 next week, a R1 win thete would give him 90 points and a small net addition.
