Puetz and Venus also lost so Lloyd and Harri have 280 points in hand on those two. Dodig and Krajicek are now the ones left in to watch this week and if they win a title will become a danger. But they cant overtake Lloyd and HarrI this week, so the lads remain in sixth

L16:  (6) Roberto Bautista (ESP) WR 22 (CH = 9 in November 2019) vs Andy Murray WR 49

The head-to-head is 3-2 to Andy, their last meeting being in the last 16 in Doha earlier this year, when Bautista won easily (0 & 1).  Before that, Andy triumped in five sets in THAT match in the first round of the 2019 AO.

I think it will be an interesting one. I think Andy is a stronger player than back in January, more resilient, but whether that will be enough. The Swiss courts are playing quite slow - from what I saw of Jack D's match and also what Carlos A said in his presser - so it could well be a 3 hour , 3 set war of attrition this one

Andy battling hard but a set and a break down at 3-6 *3-2. Key stage was the break point he had at 3-3 first set.

Andy made 6 forehand errors is his second service game, was fortunate to get away with that. A sure fire way of reducing the forehand error count and to ensure that he doesn't ever concede this many points in a game would be to make these errors on consecutive points.

Just a small point and assuming that should say triumphed not trumped - Bautista-Agut won that match in Australia

You're quite right, of course, Liz.  Wishful (retro)thinking on my part, I'm afraid!

Andy - my mood is now at a state where I expect him to lose and to lose heavily and to struggle past guys he should beat easily.

I thought he entered the indoor season with some hope. But it has been really disappointing.

I hope he considers whether he should go on like this and maybe determines Wimbledon 23 should be a good place to end.
