Saw a little of Jacks game. Very impressed. Can see him being British number 2 fairly soon

Jaggy's going for number one pretty soon.

And, actually, I agree

If not 2023, then definitely 2024

But quite likely 2023....

I don't  think there have ever been 3  GB players in the 2nd round of an ATP100 event, and definitely never when not one of them are called Tim or Andy.

I watched the first set of JD's match. He looked in control.

I am enjoying the coverage on TennisTV. Excellent image quality with my big screen and fast connection, and it is soooooo nice not to have an idiot  commentator like there usually is on UK terrestrial TV!

For Evo, that is season over. His last 3 years have seen his year end ranking as

2021 - 25
2020 -32
2019 -42

This season will see him finish around 26 or 27 depending on results this week in Paris, so he is finishing very, very consistently. I guess it is pretty easy to say he has found a very clear level - I think we would be hard pressed to find many other players with such a consistent performance level over that period. I am not sure what he needs to do to make a step higher or whether he has it in him; he hasnt got the ability to suddenly find a big weapon for example. What he does have his street smarts and maybe that growing experience and confidence as well as maybe getting a couple of good draws in big events (his ranking is largely devoid of grand slam runs into the second week) is what it would take

Jack lost 6-3 7-5 to Tiafoe, only caught the last game but from the commentary a poor choice of a drop shot at BP down at 5 all in the second cost him dear and overall he didn't take the chances in the second set and didn't play as well as he can. But neither can anyone else all the time, and a great season he's had nonetheless with a meteoric rankings rise by anyone's standards. Think 2023 will be very exciting!!

Watching Rafa v Paul, rocking atmosphere, like Davis Cup and there is no French player on court. I do like Paris as an event.

Jack of course still has Milan to come, and will be taking it seriously. With the short set scoring, I think it suits Jack as he can serve through a set and also use more time in later sets to regroup if he needs, throwing one or two effectively. 4 4 game sets out of 7 makes it fun.

ive always liked the Next Gen as an event and it feels serious despite the fact they use it to experiment a bit.
