Fears unfounded 6-1 2-0 retired Marcus & Scott move onto a 12-0 record together.

There is a challenger next week in France. If these two tried to enter in advance (no way to tell if they did) they would have been about 30 ranking spots out but there are some on site spots they can try for. Or Marcus could play with Jay with whom he reached 3rd round of Wimbledon.

Yeah I had wondered if they would try and play in that next week. Especially as theyd stayed in France to drop to M15 rather than find a M25 this week. Think Marcus replied to someone on Twitter at some point saying Challengers in November was the hopefully plan.

Ah Marcus, Marcus, what could have been ...

I still remember in the relatively brief period when he was seriously truly going for it, in between just not, wirh financial backing from what ya call him again () watching him live play an ITF singles SF and final in Edinburgh on the same day, schooling Liam Broady in the final.

And just where could he have got to in doubles?!

Still, all the best mate, stick around a wee while please.

Response from Marcus.

Off to Greece for a 15 and 25. Sticking to plan until we guarantee ourselves in challengers!

Top reporting Bob! The M25 looks like it will have plenty of Brits in singles. 2 in the MD currently and 5 in qualifying and plenty waiting in the wings on the Alts list.

Update: They would have got into the French challenger. And the Greek sign in is not until Monday.

Does seem a bit strange to not risk it. However I guess the cost of last minute travel changes while earning small amounts does make it a risk. I guess also a few more tournaments together at a lower level to fine tune their teamwork might also be part of the thinking.

Do they even need to be literally there to sign in these days though? They cant just phone?

I know they just finished their tournament but Patten/Cash must have done that to get into Knoxville as they werent on the advance list.
