Week 45 - ATP Challenger 80 - Knoxville, TN, USA (indoor hard)

Paul seems to be slowly creeping upward now in the rankings. Hopefully next season he can fully cement his place in the top 200.

Ah, but certainly a good looking effort in that first set.

The 4 qualifying points will take Giles up to 70 ranking points. Apparently this will not be quite enough for him to make the top 500 next Monday..Both live-tennis and OER are showing 6 players on 70 points from 500 to 505 wirh Giles at 504.

Aidan had a problem with his left knee - had an MTO - the commentator said he should have stopped - although he was still running OK at the end....

Was a tight old match of fine margins. The Americans winning the 1st set tie break on a missed overhead from Julian which was the only point to go against serve in the tb. The 2nd set was as tight with the Brits having more Break point chances until Henrys serve just disappeared from 40-15 up 3 double faults later and that was basically the match.

Onto Drummondville next week. That might be their last of the season unless they fancy the lone South American hard court in Chile the week after.
