with Hannah pulling out of next week, she can no longer
catch Alfie and so he takes the place for most
tournament titles as no one can catch him. He has already qualified of course, so no change to the list, but well done to Alfie
This leaves the women doubles, best 3rd and 4th place finisher, November PoM and PoM RU and any wildcards placed to fill. In total, 6 places still available in the player of the season poll, 22 filled

The Andorra womens doubles draw should be out today and, with it, a little more clarity on the direction of the womens doubles top spot!
As you will see, neither Hannah or Mimi play this week, and Maia plays just doubles in Andorra. Maia could conceivably be 2nd outright at the end of the week and that would be great, but Alfie has this race sewn up.
There is just over a week before the player of the season voting starts and we have 58 plus contenders for player of the season at the moment - 59?!
22 already qualified and coming to the party!
24 currently in the wild card vote over and above those 22 already qualified = 46 total
13 who are in November player of the month vote (out of the 20 currently in that field - 8 of the Pom players are already in one of the other votes) = 46 + 13 = 59 players
And, of course, more could join the November player of the month party or the wild card fiesta and in turn will make our 22 qualified into a joyful gathering of 28 ready to crown the King or Queen of the year in just two weeks time !
Oh what fun!
Who thought December tennis would be boring !

One more was added to the wildcard number above so we have 60 players in some form of player of the season contention now!

Marcus Willis reached 6 titles today and is the only player on 6 or more titles not qualified for Player of the Season. Too little, too late.
Player WINS
Alfie Hewett 8
Hannah Klugman 6
Maia Lumsden 6
Marcus Willis 6
Mingge Xu 6
In retrospect, shame he wasn't nominated for a PoS wildcard, but he didn't rock anyone's boat - at least he is in November PoM vote and may find a route into PoS that way.
Maia may not finish the year as doubles no 1. Heather is entered for Dubai doubles, with 140 points at stake.
Yep, but you forget my cut off point is December 4th ranking and Maia will lead that. The player of the season vote starts middle of next week so that has always been the cut off date for taking the ranking!
im sure ive mentioned that several times !
heather of course my well take year end top spot but it will be too late for the player of the season calculations!
Updated voting schedule for rest of season as below : PoM is Player of the Month; PoS is Player of the Season. All votes are 48 hours duration (if PoM vote requires rounds, groups, these will be 24 hours for each of the two rounds)
Vote Poll dates
July PoM July 30- Aug 1 August PoM Aug 27-29 Sept PoM Oct 1-3 October PoM Oct 29-31 November PoM Dec 3-5 (one week later as I realised I was cutting Nov off earlier than necessary) W Ranking cut off Dec 4 PoS WC Nominations Nov 27- Dec 5 (nominations process will open Nov 27 and first 20 nominations made will be included in the vote - the cap will be 20. Any players subsequently qualifying for PoS through the PoM vote or via world rankings will be taken out of the wild card process) PoS Wild Card Dec 6-8 PoS Round One Dec 9-11 PoS Semis Dec 12-14 PoS Final Dec 15-17
A combined Dec 23/ Jan 24 PoM vote will take place end of January 2024.

I first mentioned the 4th December rankings cut off in the above post from July. I have changed the rest of the schedule slightly as my own plans became clearer but Ive always worked towards the 4th December for rankings - thankfully all the other rankings were decided well in advance, its just Maia and Heather who messed us around! Shame Heather missed out, she is in the wildcard vote though so anyone wishing to see her in player of the season will have a chance to vote for her there!
Weve reached 62 players/pairs/teams still in theoretical player of the season contention. 23 in the main field, 24 more in wildcard contention and 16 others not already nominated in player of the month.
The process starts with November player of the month in an hour or two!
