Weeks 3 & 4 - Australian Open - men's singles (outdoor hard)

Thanks so much for the running commentary Jaggy. I would like to have watched but needed the sleep.

Again Dan seemed to play well but lacks that firepower against players like Rublev. Shame - so, go Andy !

Andy 3-0 down and has only won 1 point.

I thought when he came out he looked very groggy.

Straight sets win for RBA. If Andy wins more than 6 games Ill be surprised. But its Andy..

Hopefully more of a marathon than a sprint for Andy. These guys have a combined age of 69!!

Murray loses 13 points in a row but finally gets off the mark. Will need plenty of RBA errors otherwise this will be over as quicker than Rublev beat Dan.

*3-1 RBA

Wins a couple of points on the RBA serve but this set will be over quickly.

4-1* RBA

Murray struggling on serve another double fault and some steady typical RBA play. Saves one break point but RBA has him on strings and breaks with a Murrayesque lob and will serve for a quick first set.

*5-1 RBA

First set done in 29 minutes. The 10hrs are showing no doubt about it. Maybe just call that a warm up set. Although RBA doesnt even look warmed up. Murray looks sore but not really a surprise is it. I think he knows he is beat, probably knew it when he woke up yesterday.

6-1 RBA

Better start 2nd set. Stronger serving an ace, a winner and a drop shot to finish. That will be the standard of variety he will need to win a set today.

1-6 1-0* RBA

Easy service game for RBA no mistakes and working the forehand. No in for Murray yet

1-6 *1-1

Andy hurting and now getting angry and his failing body. Nets and hits out then a double fault seals his fate and hes broken. In more ways than one.

1-6 1-2*

RBA too solid and is much fresher. Basically one way traffic so far.

Andy starting to hit harder to try and finish the points early. Gets the job done from Deuce. Nice wee combination of forehands and slices and finishes by pushing RBA left, right and then smash volley.

1-6 2-3*
