Makes it interesting at least - a match both of them need to win really.

FQR:  (PR) Christian Harrison (USA) WR 356 (CH = 198 in July 2018) vs Daniel Cox WR 394  cry

Interestingly, Harrison's elder brother, Ryan (WR 595/CH = 40 in July 2017), is in qualies in Cleveland...

Christian and Ryan have been around for a while now; Ryan was top 100 at some stage, Im sure. Christian played a lot of British ITF events before Covid , if I recall, maybe 5 or 6 years back, hasnt really made the leap.

Ryan and Jay played in November, Ryan won 2 and 1 on that occasion. Got to imagine Ryan is going into this as favourite and, indeed, tennis abstract rates it 69-31 chance in Ryans favour.

69-31 seems very generous to jay. Would have expected 80-20 range

And SUCH a dogged match from Dan - really played a tough, tough match out there

I don't know why you have a sad face, SC

Dan was 3-0 up in the second, and got pegged back to 3-4 - not from playing badly - the rallies were exhausting on both sides. He did really well to get the momentum back

FQR: Daniel Cox WR 394  def.  (PR) Christian Harrison (USA) WR 356 (CH 198 in July '18)  6-4 7-5

Because of Harrison's "previous" (record, not with Dan).  Pleased I was wrong!  biggrin  The win should go some way towards boosting his ranking again.

L32:  (Q) Daniel Cox WR 447 vs Gianluca Mager (ITA) WR 238 (CH = 62 in November 2021)

Now shown as 66-34 , not sure why it would change unless they added new results into the ELO algorithm.
