Last few games quite exciting, but Cam arrived a bit too late in that set.

Cam has hung tough this week, decent week really. Rio next! I think its great to give the clay swing a go, good for him.

Cam's had some very decent results on clay over the years, consistently competitive against high ranked players, and won ATP 250 Lyon last year.

I reckon it's a surface for  him that's more than give it a go but one that he probably thinks he can do real damage on.

Combine that with having had the Davis Cup tie in Colombia and to me his schedule makes eminent sense.

I agree Indy, I think it was giving it a go down in South America when maybe the easy option with his ranking might have been the Middle East swing or even Europe. But he backed himself and also , I think , has played himself into form as this week progresses. Rio will be interesting with a similar set of names in the field.

acapulco after that is on hardcourts and will probably be a fair bit quicker so a good segue into IW and Miami. Good scheduling I reckon and , presumably, the DC tie in Bogotá provided the impetus. I can see why Dan , with a home in Dubai, didnt do the same and Andy also, with it being clay.
