Yes, would be good to see Anton get drawn against your average 400-500 sort of guy
After all, Anton wasn't beating guys ranked 200 even when he was playing full-time and completely committed
But if he is now (full-time and completely committed), he should be able to work his way back up reasonably well, especially if he gets a few more bog standard draws
He wasn't, you're right. But I still expect good things from Anton providing he does go full-time after his studies (which I believe finish this year). In his defense, I don't know if you can see he's ever been "full-time", given he's studying in class in the UK. His outings have been very spotty and looking at his tournaments the furthest afield he's ventured is Portugal.
It wasn't that long ago he beat a few top 200 players in Fabbiano, M Ymer, and Zapata Taberner (albeit on grass). I've seen enough to believe a top 200 talent is there, providing he plays consistently and can rein in his temper! Maybe I'm biased because he's a fave but I do think he's still one to watch!
Final: (3) Johannes Härteis & Daniel Masur (GER/GER) CR 684 (440+244) defeated (4) Charles Broom & Anton Matusevich CR 1038 (228+810) by 7-6(3) 6-7(3) [10-5]
