Dan played a decent match. Let us hope that this form continues.  There were at least 4 people in his corner, does anyomne know who they are? I'm sure that one of them was Sebastian Prieto, his coach.

 His girlfriend Alison is there.

Lost that set 6-2. Hes playing with Cerundolo next week in Madrid. Didnt Norrie partner him recently as well? Must get on with the Brits on tour? Probably through Prieto and doesnt Cam have an Argentinian coach as well?

This isn't top level from either player.  It is with serve in the 2nd, Dan receives at 5-4.

The fightback starts here:  Dan takes the second set by 7-5 to level the match.

Bizarrely, Dan leads 5-0 in the third. He has cut out his UEs and FC has not. It still feels quite close...

QF:  (12) Daniel Evans WR 26 defeated (15) Francisco Cerúndolo (ARG) WR 32 by 2-6 7-5 6-3  biggrin

Didn't really expect that, not on clay, even if he was broken when he first served for the match at 5-1, but can't see him getting past the top seed:

SF:  (1) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR 2 (CH = 1 last September) vs (12) Daniel Evans WR 26

What a super, brave third set

Those first-second serves in the final game were just really gutsy

Great win

Whilst I make Carlos a very strong favourite in tomorrow's semi final, I think thay Dan has a better chance than anybody else in the draw.  Dan will have to consruct his points as we know he can but make almost zero errors.

Points wise, today's result is Dan's second best of the last 12 months. Plus he is $130k richer!

A bit reminiscent of Boris Becker's comment after he lost to Peter Doohan in the second round at Wimbledon in 1987, when "Boom Boom" was the defending champion:  something along the lines of "I lost a tennis match.  Nobody died out there."   wink

Off topic, I've now discovered that Doohan died from MND in 2017 at the age of only 56.  cry  Bloody disease!  furious
