Week 18 - ATP Challenger 175 - Open d'Aix - Aix-en-Provence, France (clay)

L32:  (WC/5) Andy Murray WR 52 (CH = 1 in November 2016) vs (WC) Gaël Monfils (FRA) WR 322 (CH = 4 in November 2016)

If bloody Tommy Paul hadn't appeared out of nowhere, Andy would've had a bye into the last 16!  furious

I remember watching them play 1st round of the French back in 2006 (the only time Ive been to Roland Garros). Gael won that time, hopefully the result will be different this time!

Totally agree crazy playing on clay he should go straight to grass  he could injure himself on the clay and miss Wimbledon

I was shocked to see Gaels ranking the other week, whats the story? Injury? Paternity leave?

Unfortunately Gael was out of most of last season with foot and heel injuries which is a real shame as hes one of everyones favourites to watch.

Perhaps Gael will knock him out and he'll end up playing just 1 match.

For me it isnt so much injuring himself its that he has a genuine chance on grass and really looks like he is a no hoper to do damage on clay , so just focus on the grass and getting sharp on that- IMHO!
