I remember when he pulled out of RG in the season that he won Wimbledon for the second time. He basically went straight to Wimbledon to practice. The Daily Mail (of course) grassed him up and questions were asked how come he was fit to do a fortnight's training block on the grass but wasn't fit enough for RG.
Hopefully he gets himself a tough draw at RG and has more time for the grass. Alcaraz on the first Sunday would be ideal.

Andy was certainly very excited and fired up to win at the end of that, good to see. Maybe clay isnt such a write off! One more win will see him move into the top 50 in fact!
Plays winner of Bublik or Mayot in semis. Tommy Paul and David Goffin in other.
Two lucky losers in semi finals in diffferent tournaments over the same weekend must be unusual. I think most observers enjoy the underdog having some success.
So should Andy be playing the clay court season? My view is that it is very much his choice. He knows how his body is feeling. I don't think it takes a seasoned pro like Andy more than a a week and a couple of matches to fully transition to a diffferent surface.
