A good week for Harriet here, would put Swan back in the danger zone perhaps, a good week for both and Hev might be in trouble. But given the closeness in rankings feel you now have to take into account her missed points from last year's Wimby so feel Hevs prob done enough(given she's taken a week off she might already have been given a nid and a wink), and Jodie and Katie B are shoe ins.
You conveniently ignored my comment saying that it was hardly a ''tantrum'' which calling someone unprofessional certainly isn't. Indiana is right about your latest comment re Katie B and Jodie

Semantics. Ironically Harriets outburst was unprofessional, but its all very easy for us to comment from our sofas, not in their position, so no lasting judgement from me. These things happen.
Anyway - I now think theyre all getting WC, just maybe not all confirmed until later this week, and they all should. I feel for Lily!!
Yes I feel for Lily too, but genuinely believe she can qualify. If Harriet is made to go through qualifying, I think she will do it too if she can sneak a seeding
It's a stark reminder how well the girls did last year on the grass. All other than Heather are due to take big ranking drops on Monday with Eastbourne points coming off.
Worth remembering, mind you, that the women's system is way more generous for qualifying in terms of points
ATP WTA
1st round 10 points 10 points £55,000 R3 Qualifying 16 points 30 points £36,000 R2 Qualifying 8 points 20 points £21,750 R1 Qualifying 0 points 2 points £12,750
The money obviously is clear - far better to be directly in R1. As is the prestige.
But a wildcard going into the main draw is expected to lose. Of course, you might get a lucky draw, or play especially well. But it's odds-on that you'll lose, and so get 10 points
But a win in QR1 for the women gets 20 points, and a win in QR2 gets them 30
And, of course, with their rankings (and recent level) they would be expected to win

CD, just to be clear, is the 10 WTA points for a R1 loss, just for the MD direct entrants (including WC's)?
The qualifiers would just be content with the 30 WTA points gained for reaching R1, if they lost in that round?
No, I believe that if you lose the QR3 you get 30 points, and if you win the QR3 and make the main draw but then lose in R1 you get 40 points
Thanks for the clarification, CD.
It's something I'm perpetually confused about. Though it still seems a bit inequitable, a player only receiving 10 extra points for winning the Q3 match, which is likely to have been the toughest challenge.
Well its only really Harriet that has a big ranking drop. Katie and Jodie only won 1 round at Eastbourne.
And of course they can now only gain points from this week, Eastbourne and Wimbledon.
They both reached round 3, beating Pliskova and Badosa in round 2 respectively. And indeed the can, the rankings being a week out of sync throws up opportunities.
I'm just making the point that in the joy of Nottingham it's easy to forget just how many big wins all the girls racked up on the grass last year, and actually if they hadn't gone on these runs last week some of the rankings would be looking quite gloomy.

The following is what the Wimbledon FAQ's page has to say about the award of WC's :
Wild Cards
Awarded at the discretion of The Championships' Committee who take into account LTA recommendations regarding British players.
Overseas players may also be considered based on past performance and ranking, or recent record that has caused significant ranking gain since the close of Wimbledon entries, particularly if that has been achieved on grass.
