Not ideal preparation for Wimbledon to say the least.

You know I nearly said at the beginning that both of them looked a little out of sorts, but the Frenchman was that bad in the first set that it seemed churlish to mention that Liam didn't look in peak form either.

Now I'm watching Andy Murray play Alex de Minaur in what is a far more compelling (first round) match than that tedious final in Nottingham was last week.

Andy hasn't played badly it just that Alex de Minaur has played a scorcher, relentless all out great all round tennis for nigh on two sets, not giving Andy's ageing body and reflexes nary a sniff of a chance.

Disappointing.  I had thought that Andy might put up a bit more of a fight than that.  A very impressive performance by Miñaur, however.

that is a disappointment for Andy - so no seeding for Wimbledon, then, and a heavy loss. Time to rest those legs and hope for a good draw

De Minaur too fast arounde court for Andy. Big difference between top 20  players and  those ranked 100 etc playing in challengers

They are saying Andy might go for Eastbourne... he so badly wants that seeding.

Isnt Eastbourne too late ? Seedings are based on the next rankings list which comes out after Queens Club?

Yes, "they" are being a bit silly. The Wimbledon seedings will indeed be based on this coming Monday 26/06 rankings.

Unfortunately not that suprising for Andy

He was a long way off the pace

But it doesn't matter, it's up to him, and what he gets out of it

Ugh I cannot stand the archaic BBC commentary of John Lloyd and Andrew Castle, and
now Clare Balding to boot Much prefer Amazons team

I really enjoy Claire Balding, think she is well prepared and is a safe pair of hands. But John Lloyd annoys me more than any other commentator ever. Just says the same things every match he does, and loves to point out players are choking but never mentions that he was the biggest choker going.
