How much money for making the FQR and 1st Round Main Draw? They dont seem to put the prize money on a lot of the draws in ATP and challenger events Ive noticed?

Would imagine its a decent payday for Billy which is good to see.

You need to look at the PDF versions of the draws:  Billy will pocket 8,775 euros (& 10 ranking points) for reaching the FQR.  The main draw doesn't appear to be available yet, so I've no idea how how much a loss in the first round proper would be worth to him.

Losers in the first round of the main draw will pick up 17,120 euros (& no ranking points), compared with nowt & 20 points for actually qualifying.

Qualifiers for the MD just go onto the MD prize money so effectively it is 17,120 euros for qualifying.

A predictable outcome but a respectable score there from Billy.

Just realised Ryan drops to the 300s after this week unless he gets some points. Even matching last year only gets him to the 250s I think. I wonder if he will only get a MDWC if he wins a least one round here. Sonay is the same on the womens side think unless she performs a miracle it will only be a QWC for her.

Atp show Ryan as live 310 this morning. Instinct is he will get one based on last seasons great grass play.

There's no space for Sonay to get one. I think that's definite. There's just too many in the 110-150 bunch this year, and not enough wildcards

But I agree with Jon, I 'feel' that Ryan will get one too - they've got quite a lot of flexibility with the men - hardly any contenders really - so they can afford to have a couple of 'dodgy' ones

Ryan is kind of a short term rankings victim of the grass season being a week later than it was last year.

Therefore his Queen's 90 points are now already off in his offical ranking and his Eastbourne 45 points are off in his live ranking.

Now he may not find anything like that form this year, may end up with zilch and in the longer term end up outside the top 300 at the end of this grass season.

But it is a tad annoying in WC announcement week, traditionally Queen's week, that these points have come off before he has had any chance to defend them.

I would give him a MD WC.

On grass, I like Cams draw, and Liams as well if he gets inspired. Ryan and Jan could have had worse? Dans and Andys feel fifty fifty matches to me .

Mannarino is wily old campaigner on the grass so going to be really tough for Liam IMO.

Absolutely. Mannarino is the clear favourite.

The only thing in Liam's favour is that Mannarino is a wily old lefty, and relies heavily on that. Obviously, against another lefty, that advantage is rather neutralised.

absolutely, Mannarino is favourite, but Liam sometimes has these performances and, when he does, he can beat players like Mannarino. But he is defo the underdog

Yep but I think it more depends on Mannarino rather than Liam. I don't think Liam ever plays out of his skin but I think Mannarino, against another lefty, if he gets a bit grumpy, is perfectly capable of losing
