OMG, I've just realised I'm only about 10 miles from Surbiton currently. I could be free Friday onwards. Now that would be a treat.

Sorry Julia, looks like all tickets sold out for Friday and the weekend.

I've just seen that.  Is it worth showing up and buying a grounds ticket and  checking if there are any returns perhaps?

The stand tickets sold out ages ago - but the ground tickets are sold out as well now.

Looking forward to Sonay Vs Katie Boulter, the latter will be favourite but could be closer than most people expect.

At this point I don't want Harriet to partner with Heather but after the whole Jay debacle I think she still will.

Last years no ranking point situation clouds over arguably Heathers best Wimbledon ever (minus her win). Fourth round of singles and a set away from QF doubles with Harriet. Would be unfair in my opinion to not award her wildcards. (Although I do agree Harriet would potentially have a lot more success with Heather - who was the obvious weak link in their doubles match.

If Sonay is fully fit, my money is on her TBH. Just start to get the feeling that with Isas performance yester day the new guard is coming through in the womens game - thank goodness! What we need. I think it will help the performance of the older women to have more competition and have their wildcards under threat from the younger players.

Sonay looked A1 fine yesterday. And I saw her quite a bit afterwards, and she wasn't complaining about any pains or whatever (that I heard), she was jolly and upbeat.

But I still think Katie B will win on grass.

The 'old guard' are in their prime, statistically. Katie B is only 26, it's hardly 'old'

I think your argument applies to Heather, that's for sure, but not to Katie, Jodie, Harriet etc. yet

My real interest is on Katie Swan. I've always said she's a shoo-in for top-100 if she's not injured. She has real depth and power AND plays a smart game.

Isa did brilliantly. And Talia was decent. And Mika was respectably for her age. (Hannah R wasn't really at the races).
Marni and Millie were both impressive too, and have more to give. So, of the new gaurd, it's interesting, definitely.

But I think Katie B has more to give. And Katie Swan might be flying

Coup Droit - interesting times. Lets s e how things go today and tomorrow. Sorry - I didnt mean to be derogatory about the women, just feel a little frustrated as they play so well for Fed Cup games. Obviously my opinion influenced by the likes of I ga , Mirra 16,Coco 18, but hey Ons 28 amd Ons is the one player I will always want to watch - love her game.

We're all on the same page, Var

I don't feel at all aggrieved about the 'super-stars' like Mirra and Coco (and, after all, we had/have our own - young Emma - other countries would have sold their own mothers to have an Emma)

But, yes, I do feel we should have a batch of top-100 players. And I agree it's frustrating that Jodie, Harriet, Katie B and Katie S aren't in the top-100.

However, they are all pre their prime, they're not going to be Coco, that's for sure, but I truly believe that at least two of these will be top-100 soon, if not three or four.

And I don't think the Isa group are quite ready to take over there yet.

Marni and Millie are interesting - young, not playing full competitive schedules due to injury and studies, playing good tennis. I could see both of them making big moves up (but not top-100 quite yet).

It was lovely to see Sonay doing well. She's always been a little fave, just for being different. But her awful loss at RG, on her preferred surface, only a couple of weeks ago, can't be forgotten (although maybe it did her good?)

I'd expect only two wins today for the women - so not quite yesterday's win-fest. One will be a disaster. Three would be amazing - I've never been a fan of Naiktha's singles but everything's possible and Emily App certainly gave Wickmayer a decent match; equally, Dodin had been known to be a complete headcase on court, if Maia could just be irritating enough, it might just work....

Emily's actually playing pretty well but it's just a different class of opponent. 3-6 *0-4 (missed two game points at *0-2 and saw 3 break points evaporate with big serves just there).

Harriet disaster opening set 2-6 *1-1

Maia served for the first set, missed set points. The had 40-0* at 5-4*, and managed to lose the set 5-7

Naiktha 3-6 *1-1

You're right.....

Couldn't go today so just on livestream

Harriet's first set was a complete 'mare - Millie Rajecki did SO much better in forcing Kempen onto the back foot and stopping her dictate

Maia lead and had three SPs but couldn't quite do it - shame, really, especially as it was partly due to Dodin having a sit-down strike right at a crucial part, which disrupted the flow

Decenft effort from Em WS

Naiktha playing as expected, say no more

The second sets can't be worse so here's hoping....

Emily loses 6-3 6-0. Should have picked up a couple of games in the second, but it doesn't really matter.

Naiktha gets a break in the second.
