Went to the final today, lovely big crowd, v hot and sunny.

I wont do a report as they arent Brits but suffice to say two things - both are really nice guys, I was pleased to see them chatting and clapping well and just generally talking really nicely at the awards part.

Kudler knows his way around a grass court; he dominated this and won comfortably, maybe went to deuce once on his serve. He was last 16 last season at Wimbledon and second week again would seem reasonable.

Kudler thanked his family host Jane at the end , a local lady who is like his second mum, has
Put him up the past 5 years hes been here - he dedicated his win to her, which was lovely .

I was at the final today as well. Both players seem really nice blokes and I hope they do well at Wimbledon!

ha, it was a good day I thought - I enjoyed the womens match more, it was more up and down and kept us guessing but the mens tennis was good, Kubler just was too strong and ahead the whole time really to make it compelling

We had great seats, literally row 2 behind Ofner's seat in breaks, so we could hear every word he was saying - maybe we saw you there, haha!

We were almost at the top of the stand so did get a great view of the court. We got quite sunburnt though despite applying factor 50 twice ! I enjoyed the womens match a bit more. There were more exciting winners and it did get exciting at the end with Navarro trying to get back into the match.

One thing the tournament director, Rick, in his very long speech talked about , was growing the tournament in the future. Id heard rumours pre Covid that they have a vision of a an atp/WTA 250 event there. It would take much - the infrastructure is there. Where it would fit eg take license from Nottingham maybe and move it a week earlier , thats hard to say, but that was the ambition.

Kubler came over to Ofner whilst Rick was talking , about 10 feet from us, and made some joke about it giving them more time to think about their speeches ! The two of the players seemed to get on well and Kubler stood and applauded when Ofner went to get his runner up prize. As said, both seemed genuinely nice chaps.
