Was interested to hear from Jonathan Overend on Radio 5 Live about the fantastic run Cam had here last year that took him into the top 10.

Cam had been top 10 in April last year and was to get back there in August. But strangely enough wasn't top 10 immediately before or even after last year's Wimbledon.

How could Cam's run here last year have ... 'taken him into the Top 10'.  There were no ranking points issued last year.

 You don't say  wink

My 'dig' was aimed at the commentator, not you wink

And a delay on court one because they didnt think to close the roof despite rain showers forecasted well into the afternoon. What a joke

A very good show on the show court by Dan

but the mess of yesterday was too much to get past

All too late....

COngrats to Halys though - he played a good match here

Pity the commentators/interviewer can't be bothered to learn the correct pronuncation of "Quentin"...   furious

I know - my 'French' son walked through the room yesterday as the commentator was saying it, and stopped short and said something along the lines of 'WTF?'

I know that pronounciations are difficult - but if you've only got two players, and they play a match for about three hours, I do feel that you've got enough time to check how to say the guy's name !!!

Almost ten times worse, I'd say:  I swear that I heard Nesta McGregor (I think) pronounce Daria Saville's surname "Seville" yesterday!  disbelief  Absolutely no excuse for that.  But then, he's from a generation that seems to think monarchs are "coronated" & people "registrated"...  bleh

With the latest delay. Assume play on outside courts not till 14:00ish again. Allowing for 7ish hours play. Going to be some 1st round matches not complete while some will already be through to the 3rd round as they play 2nd round only on Centre.

Tons of net play, mixing it up, serve out wide is doing damage, Med. a long way back, a few unfortunate UEs, but - yep - the lad's doing well

5-4 now. Arthur seems to be well settled if the score is anything to go by

Wimbledon having a shocker with these roofs this year. How you have a roof and having a delayed start because of rain and a rain delay. So stupid

Well, to be fair, my commentary said they asked the Met Office at about 1.30 or so, when the first patch of rain lifted, and the Met Office swore blind there wouldn't be any more rain this afternoon.

And then 40 mins later - it's raining !

I also heard that they delayed the start of the Ct 1 Match so it could be played with the roof open.
Easy to criticise - I wouldn't like to be making these decisions!
And let's be grateful for the two courts with the roofs, so at least there is some play possible even in the worst weather.

Yes, they've got a huge amount of criticism for having matches completely under cover when the weather's been lovely too

And and least covers seems to be off now....
