Entertaining match.  Hev & Joe had match points in the 10th game of the third set...  cry

Such a shame they didn't get the win.

Why do players not get ranking points for mixed doubles? I think players who play well should get rewarded to help them on the tour. Most doubles players take mixed very seriously.

The atp and wta have rankings for mens and womens doubles respectively, mixed is a different format of the sport; so one wouldnt expect the atp or wta to start including mixed in their rankings.

mixed is only played at the 4 slams; so if anyone was to create a mixed rankings, the ITF would seem the logical candidate. but Having a ranking list based 4 events per year wouldnt make it very credible. I used to produce my own mixed rankings and published them here a couple of years back. I used to count results over two years, 8 events. To be honest I stopped doing it as time was precious and no one else seemed interested! Haha.

This was a link to my thread - I stopped after Wimbledon 2021.

britishtennis.activeboard.com/t65378416/world-mixed-doubles-rankings/

I dont think anyone else ever commented so it was a bit of an exercise in self indulgence. Im tempted to calculate the numbers again at the end of this Wimbledon, just to see!

Thanks! I really like mostly useless stats! Your list from 2021 is great!

haha. Indeed, useless stats is my speciality - I might re calc after Wimbledon. Looking back, two years ago, we ruled the mens side of mixed with Joe, Neal, Jamie all at the very top, Harriet near the top of the womens. I think that was about our peak, not sure we would be so high now!

Jonny gets revenge over Ebden and goes one better than last year. Entertaining match as usual. Liv is an excellent partner for him.

Delighted Lyudmyla Kichenok and Pavic won the title in 3 sets. Entertaining match and great to see Lyudmyla Kichenok becoming the first female Ukrainian grand slam champion after the disappointment of Elina losing today. The crowd gave her a huge round of applause when she mentioned the war at home.

I mentioned I sometimes compiled mixed doubles rankings - here are the updated lists for post Wimbledon

I take the last 8 slams (ie from US Open 2021) and allocate points W = 10, RU = 6 SF =3 and QF = 1

It is simple and no doubt flawed, but here is the womens list - Liv would enter at equal 20th and Alicia would be equal 30th. Format is a bit shot but it is position, points and player
