Second set tie break, Bob, seems a very tight match

Not convinced by my own theory at the moment.  Livescores already seem to be adding these points. But being an ITF event, they won't go on until next week when he drops 25 from last year.

I guess we find out for real then as Toby seals the straight sets victory.

OK. Worked it out and it's not happening.

Was looking at Toby on Live Rankings and they were showing +8 points (+32 places) which I took to be his points here for reaching the SF. Wrong as always. Those were his +8 points for reaching QR2 at Wimbledon.

The points from this week go on in a weeks time and will be offset by the 25 he will drop. So he needs to win the final (sorry Billy) and then reach the SF again next week.

Then maybe, just maybe ........

It probably wont happen for several months Im afraid Bob. Kyle will drop out and Paul Jubb and Ali Gray are in the danger in the following weeks.

Stuart Parker will drop out unless he starts picking up points in September when his challenger winning points fall off as well.

Ha Bob, I did mention earlier in the thread that, while agreeing that Toby was the guy to get behind here, top 500 couldn't happen for him from this tournament because of that 25 points drop. But with the good points he has been gathering it can happen for him and indeed others next week. And then points dropping later on down the line are irrelevant to the more immediate top 500 prospects. These two home M25s always did look an opportunity and still do.

And he could well be the top seed in Roehampton next week.

Congrats to Toby. Pity for Billy but he will be back, I'm sure.

So with the 25 coming off now fully covered, a SF for Toby next week sees him into the Top 500.

Dan Cox needs some points otherwise he will be out the top 500 in 4 weeks time as well. My hunch is it will be 19 in 2 weeks and the 20 wont be possible til later in the year. And by that stage relying on Paul Jubb and Ali Gray to be fit as well as Stuart Parker to start winning.
