The anticipated and surely our best available selection.
I wasn't disputing that, merely dismissing the hope of a GB victory. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, of course, but on the evidence of the first set (1-6), it seems highly unlikely.

Yes, certainly looked a toughie. Re 'best available' of course Leon chose not to have Joe available. If Dan is feeling it a bit after his singles, Neal & Joe would have been a very good option to have ( I would have preferred Joe here rather than Andy or possibly Jack with his fitness issues ). They at times haven't clicked in team competitions as hoped for but have won 2 ATP titles together in the past in very limited tournament partnerships together.
Keep on fighting though, guys.

Also think Salisbury should have been in the squad to partner Skupski leaving Evans to play all 3 singles.
I dont think this is fair on Dan, TBH. Smith - if we don't win the doubles, then surely he needs to go? I don't get this pussyfooting around with LTA tennis. Bad decisions, it's not the players.

A 4th MP against at *30-40. Skupski saved with an ace and in the next point showed not bad footwork to backpedal and put away a very well angled smash from deep in the court.
