Evo was a set and a break up but has just lost the second on a breaker and it's 1-1 in the 3rd. Don't know if it's a confidence issue with him being on a long losing streak.

hes got the break now and is 3-1 up. Koepfer is solid, and their history is tight matches with Dan coming out on top - hope Dan will do it today, think he will

And it went downhill, dang - 5-4 to Koepfer and serving
Dan now though has 450 points due to drop off in the coming 2 weeks ( 90 from Washington and 360 from Montreal last year ).
Currently young Andy Murray is projected to overtake him for GB #2.
Yeah, just saw that and it will drop him to 50-60 range unless he replaces the points. Jack Draper is also due a big drop unless he can get points on his return.
Feels a bit terminal for Dan? Or is that just me being a bit OTT
I've felt like that for a while. Bit like Schwartzman.
Yep am starting to have that feeling too. Although with his previously perfect winning record v Koepfer and having served for the match am wondering if its mental rather than physical.
Don't know how Dan lost that match. He held 3 match points on Kopfer's serve at 6-2 5-3 40-0, and then led 4-1 in the 3rd. There was a bizarre final point where Dan didn't appear to move for Kopfer's serve. There's a clip online.

I saw that - it was quite bizarre; Dan almost gave up; twitter (X?) was going wild with accusations of tanking and match fixing but clearly it wasnt (we all know Dan too well to know that isnt his bag) - but he certainly went mentally astray and , being frank, doesnt seem to be in a good place with his tennis right now.
I am actually pleased he is playing with Andy in doubles this next couple of events - I think it will help him and maybe take his mind off his singles travails.
