Don't know how Dan lost that match. He held 3 match points on Kopfer's serve at 6-2 5-3 40-0, and then led 4-1 in the 3rd. There was a bizarre final point where Dan didn't appear to move for Kopfer's serve. There's a clip online.

Yes, Dan was utterly disgusted with himself by the end - it was only the last point he didn't bother for

I only saw the third set but knew he'd had the MPs in the second, obviously

Dan was playing well, but utterly going for broke in charging the net

I was high high risk

Obviously sometimes it paid off (hence he got to 4-1) but it was always on a knife edge

And then it turned....

But I didn't udnerstand why he was doing it - obviously Dan's good at the net, and it changes the play etc, BUT this was completely predictable and just manic

Julian and partner lost their doubles semi overnight in 2 close sets

SF:  (4) Nathaniel Lammons & Jackson Withrow (USA/USA) CR 65 (31+34) defeated Julian Cash & Robert Galloway (USA) CR 134 (63+71) by 7-6(8) 6-4  hmm

Not a bad week for a scratch partnership!
