Well for months he couldnt even win a match and now he goes and wins a blinking tournament! And an ATP500 at that!

I too had to go to bed early in the second set when the rain delay occurred and no replay on Prime that I can see bleh

Fantastic news. Am I right in thinking this is Dan's first ATP main tour title ?

The match was on Prime to watch but in two parts with the last part after the rain delay in the second part. I watched it this morning and it was great to see Dan win.

Excellent news to start the week! I bailed after set 1 because it was getting late, but Dan was superb in that stanza so I had high hopes.

Looking forward to catching up on the rest later, as I'm sure the celebration at the end will be worth it!!

Just to ditto all the other comments, we all love Dan and it's just brilliant to see him have a sudden run of form, especially when he's been struggling a bit recently...... made up for him

Evo slips back down to 27 in the live rankings due to last seasons Canadian efforts - but he enters Toronto with confidence and surely a few good weeks now in the US could see him get into the top 20? In essence, from 27th live, he now has very little to protect in the US series.

I wonder if he will in turn drop out of Winston-Salem

Brilliant news, especially I imagine for Dan himself.
Sad that it didn't even warrant a mention in the sports news on Radio 4 this morning

Also couldnt stay up to watch the second set hmm I had a look onPrime, but couldnt see the replay, so came on here to see the result. I only like to watch the replay if I dont know the outcome. Fantastic win  for Dan, he defeated some strong players to get to the final and his win should silence his critics for a while biggrin

Evo played a clever game in this final, high quality through out those two sets, excellent result. Griekspoor was inconsistent and out classed in the end. Dan's amazing lob to take it to 5-3 in the second set summed it up really. In this form he is top twenty for sure.

Bloody brilliant.

I remember watching Dan play in Wrexham futures event when he was about 16. Great to see him still playing, getting a CH ranking and a biggest title to date.

I love Evo's cheeky banter with opponents whom he clearly gets on well with - "bad luck Tallon but you've had enough this year" (titles I presume)....biggrin

 biggrin

Those who dont like Evo or Muzza seem to fall into two camps: British folks who find a place to have a pop at Evo (his drug ban or lack of success as they portray it) or Andy (his anti Englishness or lack of success as they portray it again!!) ; or world wide it seems to be people who just dont get their senses of humour or personality - Evo spikeyness and banter; Andy's dryness and, well, banter again.

And I know there are people here who dont like either or both of them and maybe for those reasons, but I think most of us here "get it" and quite like it in both cases!
