Shame that Andy and Dan lost, it was close though and I still think they are a good pairing with potential. I think they are in Toronto as a pair, and it will be interesting to see them their.
Lets hope now they start singles that the match practice helps - seems strange a pair is into the doubles semis and yet they havent started their singles yet.
Yes, it did initially seem to me very strange to be playing a doubles QF on Tuesday, particularly as you say comparative to the singles here.
However, I guess with the 48 player singles draw and Dan and Andy with byes waiting for their L32 opponents to be determined it is actually quite accomodating to let them play doubles on Monday and Tuesday to limit doubling up on the same day. And well, they won't be doubling up at all now.
Joe and Rajeev lose in the MTB. I only saw the mtb, it was decent quality. On a couple of the points, maybe Joe could have done better but perhaps I'm being unduly critical.
Tough to work out what has gone wrong for Joe and Rajeev this year. Only three semifinals. They've been amazingly consistent since 2019, but for whatever reasons they've struggled this year. Rajeev will be 40 in March, so suspect they are approaching the end of this partnership.

I think Raj had an injury also at one point, Joes back I think also gave him issues. this has been debated by A few folks here , and many think the pairing wont have long. My view is they will obviously defend their us open, if they have a chance of qualifying for tour finals they will stick together through the end of the season, but I think Rajeev will retire them regardless and they will certainly split for 2024, or before of us open goes badly for them.
