Dimitrov next up, should be good. Fritz versus Griekspoor in the other semi.

Not until circa 1.15 am though !

Great to see Evo getting some results, especially with the US Open coming up.

Hes 25 live rankings. If, big if, he wins tonight then he goes to 22. Thats a career high equalling ranking. Big incentive. But also feels a bit weird to see him that high after the form he has had!

You probably wont have to worry about that for long Jon as he has a big drop the following week as last years Canada points come off.

Ah, of course - well, pre emotive points protection then!

Evo hadnt won a match on tour since April according to twitter. Someone saying Felgate was in his box , is that correct?

The way after his loss last week I said it felt terminal for his career and now hes had his best week of the season. That reverse jinx power!

You weren't alone, similar thoughts were going through my mind last week.

Evo is well capable of beating Dimitrov in the semi with this form, hitting the ball on his BH as well as Ive seen him. Their H2H is 3-3 with Dan winning the last encounter three years ago, Vienna. Evo actually beat Dimitrov in Washington some years prior to this as well, well matched these two.

Gosh, I didn't realise he was playing a second match and I wasn't able to watch the first one. I rarely watch replays but am going to check out his one against Tiafoe .

And not dissimilar game styles - and two single handed backhands! Federer will watch this with interest !

I see there are still 3 doubles wild cards for Toronto and Dan and Andy arent in - not sure if theyll give it a rest next week and play Cinci as planned or maybe get a wild card for Toronto?

Great week for Dan. Hoping it can continue but Gregor does seem to be having a better season this year.
