Week 31 - ATP Challenger 75 - Lexington, KY, USA (hard)

I went on holiday with Trump a good few years before he was president, quite a funny guy mixed with long bouts of being extremely difficult to deal with. Complex character.

QF:  Billy Harris & Kelsey Stevenson (CAN) CR 832 (579+253) vs Hong Seongchan & Ly Nam Hoang (KOR/VIE) CR 2180 (540+1640)

On the face of it, an easy QF match for Billy & Kelsey, but their opponents did for Christian Harrison & Tennys Sandgren by 4 & 2 in their first round match.

Not that I like him at all but Sandgren seems to have really fallen back since he had that breakthrough a few years ago, has he been injured?

I think he's one of the countless Americans who were only, as Jaggy would call them, challenger level players who are able to get a good ranking without needing to try too hard because of the vast number of American tournaments whereas the likes of Liam only gets that luxury for a few weeks and otherwise has to constantly travel round the world to maintain his ranking.

Confused by what I would call them here???

Don't remember that, is it a bit of Fett-Wozniacki syndrome?

Federer beat him in the QF in 2020 in five sets. 3-6 6-2 6-2 6-7(8) 3-6 to Federer. I don't remember what happened in the fourth set though.

Edit - found an article in the NY Times https://archive.ph/PFjwE Tennys had 7 match points in the fourth set, including three at 6-3 in the tiebreak.
