Week 32 - ITF M25 - Roehampton, Great Britain (hard)

Excellent results for both Jack and Mike Shaw

Of course, one could say how disappointing for Charlie and Harry

But I like the depth of players - the bigger that pool, the more chance you have of some breaking out

George Loffhagen has basically been 'cheated' out of his second set when Tarvet's smash on MP that seemed well long was called in. Loffers is always ultra chilled about all that dort of thing but even he got a little narked

Of course, he was 5-1 and 6-4 up in the TB, and then managed to lose it, which is no one's fault but his own....

So into a third...

I have to say CD there were some idiosyncratic, to say the least, decisions by the umpires in the games I saw the other day. At one point the umpire overruled the linesman on the far side line that looked clearly in.

Bit disappointed that Henry didn't get through as I enjoyed watching his match but I'm imagining Jack is underrated anyway and probably would have been in the 300s at least by now if he was regularly on the tour.

Tough loss for Charlie as Jack ~5 years his junior and still at college

Jack has taken the first set.

On YouTube LTA are showing courts 3,4,5 and 6.

Not sure why not 1 and 2

From memory of my visit a few weeks ago they only have cameras installed on some courts and not on the other pair.

Oliver beats George. That's a terrific win for him given George's recent form.

Not a good day for the prospective top 500 or 250 club. Does create a bigger pool going forward. Would seem we might end up with a near record amount in the top 800-1000 soon.

George got done on the match point, I believe.

But that's life and he did have other chances. And fought well when he went down in the third set.

And at least another GB player got the benefit

So, yep, great job, Oli.

Well done Jubby. He looks to be in good form. Let's hope that continues.

Were the anguished cries coming from Court 3 cries of pain or just a lot of noise ?
