Needs a big chunk of points to stay there.

that is a really interesting, young, exciting last 8 there for the lads. Arthur v JoMo and Millen v Toby are really interesting, Hamish v Henry as well - well, all of them to be frank are more interesting than we usually see at ITF last 8 stage

Good article by Stuart Fraser about Henry in todays Times.

Interesting as much as anything for the insight it offers into the reality of life on the ITF circuit for players ranked below 300 or so.

Toby has nothing to drop until the end of October though.

In the here and now Toby and Felix are threatening to give us 19 in the top 500 on Monday week.

Unfortunately though 19 is not 20 and we do now lack a 20th candidate before the post US Open points drops.

For me, as a casual observer, the main interest is to see those with top 100 potential win points. To me, that would be Arthur Frey, Anton M, and Henry Searle. Maybe others also have potential, but I am not aware of it as a relative outsider

Yes, although I am interested  how often Anton seems to get mentioned by folk without much sign of delivering. He has his studies but he has still played quite a lot and quite a bit on clay, so there may be some long term strategy there, but I have been generally pretty underwhelmed.

He is also 21 or 22 so really needs to get going soon

Anton seems to me like a top 100 doubles player but maybe not singles

Miles ahead of you there Indy. Factored in 19 being possible or likely even. But it is almost guaranteed to drop to 15-16 when Stuart, Paul, Jay and Ali G drop out in the next month or so.

The start has already been delayed by two hours, and the weather forecast is pretty dire. Matches may well be moved indoors.
