neal is now world ranked number one doubles player , live rankings at least

Neal has been world #1 for the last six weeks

and SC has him marked as world #1

Ah , 1 on his own is more special than 1 shared, IMO ! I realise hes been 1T for a while now, but 1 on his own is a special landmark in my opinion.

Hijikata & Kubler (CR 71), the Oz Open champions.  I doubt Arneodo & Behar will be relishing that one!

Not that it makes much difference, I thought it worth noting! And Koolhof falls from 1T to 2 so their CR drops from 2 to 3 so it makes some difference (although 3 will always be top seeded anyway!).

Not a break point so far, both serving at around 70 percent first serves in. Looks like a tiebreak looming.

Winner plays Max Purcell next round.

Yes, hasn't even been a deuce.

In the TB Jack had SPs ar *6-5, 7-6* and *8-7 but lost it by 10 points to 8.

6-7(8)

Hopefully the fact that he has got in some tennis matches in the last two weeks and has retired at the end of a set indicates yes, clearly all is not right, but perhaps more precautionary?

His serve definitely did not have the force it had in his last match. I noticed that as soon as I started watching, which was a few games in. Only one ace, whereas previous match, maybe 10 at least. This made for much longer and tiring service games for him. Had to work so hard. Was unlucky with a net cord in the tie break otherwise he mught have clinched that set. Maybe a blessing though not to play on and exacerbate further any old problem oerhaps. Poor Jack.
