Liam wins - strange handshake from opponent biggrin

Was De Jong joking at the net or did he refuse to shake hands properly?

They were both laughing and just fist-bumped, from what I saw

Laughing about that last ball, and exchanged some joke about it

It all seemed very mate-y to me - far more mate-y than most matches

Yes. On commentary they said they were mates. I think de Jong was pretending to be angry with Liam for being lucky with that last ball and gave him a hand swipe  more than a hand clasp and Liam cracked up.

Nice win.

Glad Liam got over the line. Hoping that in his FQR he decides to wake up before the start of the 1st set instead of the 2nd set wink

Not a single Brit playing on Monday unless Liam or Lily get through. I want a refund on my ticket!

 Ouch - that's a little unfair no

Could you become an honorary something else? Just for the day?

Otherwise, do you follow the men or the women more?

There's quite a lot of the future real bright lights in women's tennis playing

i.e. Mirra is playing, and Linda F, and Clervie, which presumably will get a big-ish following

And some spicy matches in the men's too - Korda v Fucsovics? And some interesting names, even if the matches may (or may not) be a bit one-sided - Musetti, Ruud, Felix, Paul....

Looks like only Coria is a higher ranked FQR loser, so Liam stands a very good chance of getting in.  Assuming of course that some poor soul has to withdraw !

Don't forget that a minimum of four players go into the draw for a lucky loser spot.

Yes, I am aware of that. But Liam will be in that draw
