Yes I dont see there being any lucky loser spaces unless someone pulls up. The US Open in the main slam if you ask any tennis player, essentially the pinnacle, more players will pull out of the French and Wimbledon in comparison.
If Liam is going to break the Bogdanovic curse he will have to head to Mallorca and win that challenger. Which I somehow doubt.
I disagree that all tennis players view the US Open as the pinnacle of the Slams. I suspect if you did a survey, Wimbledon would come out on top, but it is also comes at the end of a brutal schedule that takes in the clay court season and Roland Garros, with a quick turnaround onto grass that might explain the additional withdrawals.
I don't think any player is more likely to pull out of one Slam than another - they're either fit to play or not - but it's perhaps easier to rest up before the US Open. If you notice, there were a crazy number of withdrawals at Cincinnati, which gave players nursing injuries time to recover.
I think we maybe have a sample of Jaggy here rather than of the players.
I actually would expect at the margins, if it cane to a difficult decision, a few more players would pull out of the clay and grass slams purely down to the surface quite apart from the fair point about the schedule. And personally I prefer the tennis of the US Open to Wimbledon.
But as I said ...
Think it was just low quality trolling
That was my thought too. Alternatively you could argue that there are more LL spots at the other slams because players are so desperate to play that they leave it until the last possible moment before withdrawing.
Trolling?
Id suggest the two of you are are more guilty than me. If offering an opinion on the US Open being the number 1 tournament (Murray, Medvedev and Djokovic agree) is trolling then blimey. But the two of you have taken a serious issue with me, maybe a difference in polictics Im thinking. I noted RainDelays opinions on Trump and Sturgeon for example.
Always think its quite sad when the same people attack a poster on here on a repeated number of times. Ive counted 5 times from one of you now. Pathetic
Amazing how quickly bullies play the victim card. Seen you do it too many times now. I'll leave you to derail this thread. Hopefully others can bring it back around to tennis.
My opinion, worth nothing more than being more opinion:
It's not trolling to say that the US Open is the favourite slam for the players.
Jaggy exagerates when he says 'ask any player' - obviously it's not the main slam for EVERY player
But there have been quite a few high level players who've said it is for them
So although there's a slight caveat, the opinion is sound or, at least, defensible (query spelling)
I don't see where all politics, bullying etc comes in, but that's partly coz I can't be bothered to see it
Without having looked at the stats from old draws, I would have guessed Wimbledon to have the highest withdrawal rate - because it's tricky for those who've just done a gruelling clay season to switch. But I may well be wrong.

You are the one that is name calling. Trolling and Bullies? Never bullied anyone in my life. I suggest you offer an apology or I will ask for the moderators to remove your post. Im not having that. You started this, you dont know me at all. Tackle the ball not the man.

Thanks CD thats a better way of putting it. Yes not every player but a lot of players, it is indeed an opinion. Also valid reasons for more excuses regarding surface and turnaround clay-grass-hard etc. Be interesting to see the stats on withdrawals and final cuts over say a 10 year period.
I dont think its a list. I think it is the top ranked 4/6 get put in a pool and a lucky one gets picked out. Anyway Cazaux just got in as a lucky loser. Thats probably that and Liam off to France for a challenger next week.
I wonder what the favourite slam is for spectators and indeed if that could even be different for those that attend compared to the more casual televison viewer? I believe that Wimbledon is the greatest spectacle and that it may have the great prestige too(?) but a player may enjoy another slam because of the surface, facilities and so on.

The women they draw the players out from the pool (the size of which is based on number of spaces) and the order you come out is the order you take in the Lucky Loser spot list. Was assuming the men had a similar process so Liam would already know how many needed to withdraw to get in. Obviously more than 2!

Top 4 ranked players who lost last round of qualifying get drawn out of a hat! I was drawn fourth and James was drawn first

Same lucky loser process for men and women at the Slams. A minimum of 4 players in the draw, but always 2 more places in the draw than places available.
